Market Data Business Analyst

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Market Data Business Analyst to support the management, optimization, and governance of market data platforms across the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and market data vendors to ensure accurate, cost-effective, and efficient delivery of financial market data services. This role requires strong knowledge of market data systems such as Bloomberg and Refinitiv, as well as experience with vendor management, entitlement processes, and market data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to market data services and platforms.

• Act as the liaison between business users, technology teams, and market data vendors.

• Support the implementation, configuration, and optimization of market data systems including Bloomberg and Refinitiv products.

• Analyze market data usage to optimize licensing, subscriptions, and associated costs.

• Manage and maintain market data inventories, user entitlements, and permissioning.

• Assist with vendor contract management, audits, and compliance with market data licensing policies.

• Collaborate with trading, risk, operations, and IT teams to ensure market data availability and quality.

• Investigate and resolve market data issues, including feed disruptions, entitlement problems, and data discrepancies.

• Produce reports and dashboards on market data usage, cost allocation, and vendor metrics.

• Support regulatory and internal compliance requirements related to market data distribution.

• Participate in market data platform upgrades, migrations, and integration initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within financial services or capital markets.

• Strong knowledge of market data platforms such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or similar providers.

• Experience working with market data feeds, terminals, and data distribution platforms.

• Understanding of financial instruments such as equities, fixed income, derivatives, and FX.

• Familiarity with entitlement systems and market data permissioning.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.

• Experience with requirements documentation, process mapping, and user stories.

• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with market data management tools or platforms (e.g., data catalogs, entitlement systems).

• Knowledge of market data compliance, exchange policies, and vendor licensing models.

• Experience working with APIs, data feeds, or integration projects.

• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum project methodologies.

• Basic SQL or data querying skills.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
