Senior SAP MDM / SAP MDG (ECC) – Data Cleaning & Governance Lead

Key Details:

• Start date: As soon as possible
• Project duration: 6 months initial + possible extensions
• Weekly workload: 4 days per week (3 days on site, 1 day remote)
• Location: near Hamburg location

Description:

Our client, a globally operating industrial company, is looking for a Senior SAP Master Data Management Consultant to begin as soon as possible and deliver the following services:

Responsibilities:

1. Data Cleaning:

• Assess the master data landscape (objects, volumes, quality, redundancies/duplicates, number ranges, units of measure, classifications, change statuses).

2. Mapping & Migration Preparation (ECC → ECC):

• Reformat and standardize data to ensure functional usability in the target system.

3. MDG / MDM Governance Framework:

• Design an MDM/MDG governance model, including roles/RACI (Data Owner, Stewards, Approvers) and end-to-end workflows.

4. Classification, Attributes & Technical Coaching:

• Material/article classification: classes, characteristics, values, and search/filter logic.

Requirements:

• Minimum 8+ years of hands-on SAP master data experience in ECC, ideally in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Strong skills in data cleaning and quality: structured cleansing, plausibility checks, and rule derivation without an existing framework.
• Extensive experience with mass data changes via LSMW
• Proven experience in designing MDM/MDG governance from scratch.
• SAP MDG technical knowledge: data model, governance mechanisms.
• Experience with BOM/work preparation–related topics, BOM cleansing, is nice to have  
• Fluent English, spoken and written. - German is a plus
