As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will design, build, and improve the core platform that enables development teams to deliver software efficiently, securely, and at scale. You will work across infrastructure, automation, and developer experience, ensuring the platform is reliable, resilient, and easy for engineering teams to consume.
You will troubleshoot complex issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and collaborate closely with software teams to enhance performance, stability, and functionality across the platform.
Design platform architecture in partnership with the Platform Engineering Portfolio Owner, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
Automate infrastructure and build self‑service tooling that reduces cognitive load for developers.
Develop and maintain Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) that streamline software delivery and improve developer experience.
Collaborate with engineering teams to diagnose issues, implement improvements, and enhance platform performance.
Support continuous improvement through documentation, knowledge sharing, and platform best practices.
Must pass AIVD screening (Dutch homeland security).
Must be living in The Netherlands.
Independent decision‑making and ownership mindset.
Strong communication skills with both technical teams and stakeholders.
High level of analytical thinking to solve complex platform issues.
Ability to create, read, and update documentation clearly and accurately.
Infrastructure‑as‑Code experience (Terraform preferred).
Strong programming skills in at least one language (e.g., Go, Python).
GitOps experience (ArgoCD, Flux).
Experience building or operating Internal Developer Platforms.
Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and modern observability practices.
Knowledge of Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift.
Experience managing private cloud platforms.
Understanding of Scrum/Agile ways of working.
Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience with pipelines as code (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure Pipelines).
Experience collaborating with application teams and using tools like Gradle, dotnet, npm.
